For many of us, the thought of going to see a therapist can be daunting. What is the value of telling another person our daily struggles and problems, isn’t this just a fact of life?

Therapy is much more than a collection of problems or struggles. It is about our capacity to change. Whether it be feelings, thoughts or behaviors, the process of psychotherapy is a structured encounter with a professional focused on change and living a more purposeful and meaningful life.

The EPS Therapy Process

1. Assessment of the Problem(s)

The first step is completing a comprehensive assessment with Chad that will become the foundation of treatment. During the assessment process we seek to gain a better understanding of who you are as a person and the current challenges that you are facing that prevent you from living your optimal life or maintain positive relationships.

2. Treatment Planning

After the assessment/diagnosis portion of the process is complete, we work towards identifying goals of treatment. We establish behavior and relationship pattens that align with who you are or whom you want to become.

3. Therapy

Therapy is a regularly occurring session (weekly or bi-weekly) focused on the change process. Change is not easy, not for people, families or organizations. Often when we introduce change to our lives we struggle, this struggle can threaten our resolve. The role of the therapist in this part of the process is to provide support and guidance through the change process.

4. Autonomy

The duration of therapy depends on the individual. Therapy can be ongoing for months or years but the ultimate goal for the process is to be brief and solution focused. The skills acquired throughout the therapeutic process are lasting and transformative.
